As you may know, Cara Anne Verbinnen was born at 12:24 September 1st via C-section because her heart rate was irregular. The irregular heart rate persisted after she was born. She was brought to McMaster to investigate the cause. After an Echocardiogram, the cardiologist told us she had a congenital heart defect. Some of the vessels coming from the heart are not formed in the proper arrangement. This must be fixed, which can only be done by surgery. The surgery will be performed at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital. She is currently on medication to level out her heart rate and morphine to keep her from getting excited and putting stress on her heart. As she grows, the tubes/channels installed in this surgery will have to be replaced with larger ones by a less invasive surgery. Likely in 2 - 5 years.
 
Please pray for Cara. We know she is in the best hands, God's hands. Our trust is in His soverign power and will.
